How to set up siebel Open UI

The following figures shows how to deploy / upgrade siebel open UI. 

Change CFG enableOpenUi to TRUE

    I have a question.

    Can I set up Siebel Open UI on my mobile web client. I don't have siebel server installed on my machine, but I have only mobile web client 8.1.1 installed.

    If I download patch 8.1.1.9 and apply to 8.1.1, will it work?

    1. Hi,
      Please check the following
      -> you (ur login) have privilege to alter files in sba81 or give "run as administrator" for patch set up
      -> You already have some component that is not in patch so the backup may fail. for example if you are using multi language application & in ur patch there is only English so the same error can happen
      -> Files may corrupted.

    I have set "EnableOpenUI = TRUE " in uagent.cfg, but it is not work, the client just show me a blank page, no errors, no any information. so what's wrong about my client.

      I am trying to run Siebel on Chrome and added EnableOpenUI = TRUE in [InfraUIFramework] section. OpenUI runs fine on IE8/IE9 but on Google Chrome it just shows blank screen.

      What could be possibly wrong?

      Please try to do this.
      Open your application in IE8/9, so now we can see your application perfectly. open Chrome. copy URL from IE, don't close IE and paste it in Chrome. Let me know the result.

      I am trying it in local.. I am able to see HI client of 8.1.1.11 patch but i am unable to see OPENUI application.. I tried all the things that you have mentioned including srf change. Even though i am getting the same blank screen.

    14. Ok. Please let me know, in which browser, you are opening application? I hope its not IE. If it is in Google Chrome / Mozilla please
      1. make IE default or open application using IE (specify browser in shortcut properties)
      2. If application rendered properly in IE, copy URL from IE and paste it in Chrome / Mozilla

    17. I am trying to open in Chrome only. My local client for the 11 patch is fine. While trying to view the OpenUI application in all the browsers you mentioned(IE/Chrome/Mozilla) i am getting blank screen.

    I am trying to open Siebel Open UI Dedicated Client through Chrome, it is not opening. It is just blank screen.

    However, i am able to open Open UI Dedicated Client through IE 8. The application version is 8.1.1.10 with QF: 0102003 applied. The application cfg file has been configured with Parameter, EnableOpenUI = TRUE in [InfraUIFrameWork] section.

    Please advise!

    I am not able to login Siebel Open UI Dedicated client through Google chrome. It is opening however, it is blank screen. The URL: localhost:8080/start.swe is blank.

    However, Siebel Open UI dedicated client is accessible through IE 8.

    The application version is: 8.1.1.10 with QF 0102003 applied.
    The application configuration file has been configured EnableOpenUI = TRUE added in [InfraUIFrameWork] section.

    I tried opening by a. setting the 'chrome' as default browser. b. setting the browser executable, chrome.exe in /b in OpenUI client icon properties. However, no success.

    Please advise.

      Open your application in IE8/9, so now we can see your application perfectly. open Chrome. copy URL from IE, don't close IE and paste it in Chrome.

      Opened the Open UI application in IE 8. Copied the URL from IE and pasted in Chrome and pressed enter. It opened a login page asking user id and password.

      I have opened Open UI in IE 8 thin client and copied the URL and opened a new Google chrome instance. Paste the URL in chrome and hit enter it opened a Siebel login page asking user id and password.

    I was using siebel.exe to open OpenUI dedicated client. Once I use the siebel1.exe from the directory, Siebel Client/bin , I was able to access OpenUI without issue.

    we have installed 8.2.2.4 on server and we have enable CFG file and AOM componet.

    After the we launch the url in IE8 it is disaplying OpenUI login page when we entered username/password it displaying black page.

    do we need do any thing else

    I'm Kranthi, a web developer and I have been asked to work on open UI, I have tried installing the 8.1.1.0 first and then executed module.exe from 8.1.1.9 client folder to install the patch. At first my installtion was successful and was able to open HI and as well as Open UI, but recently when machine has installed somw security updates I'm not able to open HI client and Open UI in my machine. I always get a blank screen on the browser window but task bar shows the client started icon.

    Can you help me in this issue.
    Note: I have tried even toggling EnableFQDN to true and false, but no use.

  23. I have not read through the entire thread but sometimes the hang/blank screen after setting EnableOpenUI = true via Server Admin (this is for thin client) is due to the SRF. You need to deploy the 8.2.2.4 SRF (if that is your version - it was mine) which is on Oracle eDelivery.

    Alternatively, I guess you can do a full compile after you have deployed 8.2.2.4 patchset.

    After the new SRF, everything is working perfectly.

    1. Yes. Full compile is mandatory, because if you are using old SRF, that may not contain Manifest defenitions (Manifest files, expressions and Administration) without that information base OpenUI API files will not download into your browser. With out openUI API, UI will not render .. you will get white screen only

  24. I had the same issue. I forgot to genbscript and move the browser scripts to /siebel/sweapp/public/enu. Once the browser scripts were in place everything worked fine.

    A quick way to verify is using the dedicated client. Set EnableOpenUI = TRUE in the config file. If you get the blank screen of death, try disabling scripting in the CFG file, EnableScripting = FALSE. And if it still doesn't work, try using the vanilla SRF. This will narrow it down.
